Didier Deschamps is a French former professional footballer and current manager of the France national team, representing a golden era in French football. He lifted the trophy as captain of the national team during the 1998 FIFA World Cup and achieved greatness again twenty years later as a manager in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. This accomplishment made him only the third person in history to win the World Cup as both a player and a coach, joining the elite company of Mário Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer.
